LogisVert multi-unit bonus: up to $220 per 1,000 BTU/h

Updated on October 21, 2026

Owners of plexes and apartment buildings: a simple explanation of the LogisVert multi-unit bonus in energy poverty zones.

What is the multi-unit bonus?

Owners of multi-unit buildings located in an energy poverty zone can receive a higher rebate for ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified wall-mounted heat pumps installed in the units.

The rebate increases from $120 to $220 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at -8 °C, an 83% increase. It stems from the Québec government's 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.

Example with the Equinox Signature 12,000 BTU

The Equinox Signature 12,000 BTU provides 14,000 BTU/h of heating at -8 °C and is ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified. With the bonus, the rebate is $3,080* per eligible installation, instead of $1,680*.

Why it pays off for an owner

According to Hydro-Québec, heating can account for more than 50% of the electricity bill in Québec, and a heat pump is up to 3 times more efficient than baseboard heaters. Air-conditioned units that cost less to heat are more attractive to tenants.
